This stack of split Pennsylvanian Cherry, all horizontal matches of one other in grain though not in shape, is reminiscent of shards of rock with their in-tact stria, built by layers of time. Each layer is a new accidental shape, though all unified by their amber grain.
The sculpture is mounted to the artist-made Cherry frame and set off against a background of deep, matte black paint. To date, seven Things have been created by Michael (Moran Woodworked Furniture)
