Hermes: An ancient God of commerce, the son of Zeus and nymph Maia, the primary messenger of his omnipotent father. Hermes has been known by many names throughout history, but his primary role has always remained the same – that of a psychopomp, or guide of the dead. He is often depicted as a bearded man in a robe, carrying a staff and either winged sandals or wings himself, allowing him to fly between the living and the dead. His constant travels between life and death have left him with an air of mystery and illusion. Carefully crafted face is meant to question the line between life and death. Is he a harbinger of doom, or a bringer of salvation? You decide.
